The habit of kneeling has lead to different types of imprints forming on the skin around the knees. When it happens, pain, soreness, itchiness, and numbness can be felt. While some might find this an unpleasant sensation, I derive pleasure from such repetitive action. It may sound weird, but it leads me to the self-discovery of my secret pleasures and fetish.
This series of casts capture my knee impressed upon different floor textures. The amount of daily actions one can achieve in a day is uncountable and every now and then, involves the act of kneeling for various reasons such as tying shoelaces, working on the ground, moving about short distances, carrying things, cleaning, and when picking up items from the ground.
As the act of kneeling is often un-noticed till the pleasant/unpleasant sensation comes into effect, this work seeks to ask what do we feel when we kneel?
